365 DAILY DEVOTIONS

AN ENCOUNTER WITH GOD EVERY DAY

By Reverend Gary Hoban

There is something powerful about beginning each day in the presence of God.

Before the demands of life begin, before the distractions of the world compete for our attention, and before the pressures of another day arrive, we have an opportunity to spend time with the Lord.

Yet for many Christians, developing a consistent devotional life remains a challenge.

We know that prayer is important. We understand that Scripture should shape our thinking. We recognise the need to grow spiritually.

But knowing these things and practising them consistently are not always the same.

That is one reason I wrote 365 Daily Devotions: An Encounter with God Every Day.

A daily invitation to encounter God

This book is designed to help believers establish a consistent rhythm of engaging with Scripture, reflecting upon God’s truth and responding through prayer.

Each devotion provides an opportunity to consider the Word of God and its practical application to everyday life.

The purpose is not simply to complete another daily reading.

It is to develop a deeper relationship with Jesus Christ.

The Psalmist declared:

“Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path.” — Psalm 119:105 (NKJV)

God’s Word provides direction, correction, encouragement and wisdom.

When we make room for Scripture, we give the Holy Spirit opportunity to challenge our attitudes, strengthen our faith and guide our decisions.

A journey through the Scriptures

365 Daily Devotions accompanies readers through a full year of biblical reflection, from Genesis to Revelation.

Each devotion includes:

  • Scripture to establish the biblical foundation.
  • Reflection to help readers understand the passage.
  • Practical application for everyday Christian living.
  • Prayer to encourage a personal response to God.

The book is intended to accompany regular Bible reading, not replace the study of Scripture in its proper context.

You don’t have to wait until January

As we approach 2027, many people will begin thinking about new routines, personal goals and spiritual commitments.

But there is no reason to wait until the beginning of another year to establish a daily devotional habit.

You can begin today.

Whether you start in October, November, December or January, the important thing is making a commitment to spend time with God consistently.

A devotional life is not built through occasional enthusiasm.

It develops through faithfulness.

Who is this book for?

365 Daily Devotions is suitable for new believers, mature Christians, ministry leaders and anyone seeking encouragement to develop a more consistent relationship with God.

It can also make a meaningful gift for family members, friends or someone beginning their Christian journey.

My prayer is that these devotions will encourage readers to open their Bibles, reflect upon God’s Word and respond faithfully to the leading of the Holy Spirit.
