God is a Prayer Answering God

Jesus said in Matthew 21, ‘My house shall be called a house of prayer,’ A word that should be ringing in every one of our ears & hearts today. Burning in us like a bushfire going through a paddock of dry grass.

What’s happened in the past here on the Gold Coast?

There have been combined meetings across the Gold Coast with thousands of Christians coming together, especially at the Carrara Indoor Stadium years ago, believing God for a move of the Holy Spirit and again God moved across this city.

Prayer when disasters have happened, Pastors joining together at Hinze Dam asking God for rain when we were in drought & of course answered with amazing rain that broke the drought. Many in the city just simply thinking that the rain came at the right time but those who prayed and stood together in faith knew the truth of why the rain came, faith in God.

When massive storms were threatening the Gold Coast we prayed & they just miraculously turned away. Our mayor was watching the computer in the Gold Coast Disaster and Emergency Management Centre and the whole team watched as the storm just did a 90’ turn and left. God is a prayer answering God.

Even to this day we have prayer groups across the city praying for our leaders & for a sustained move of God. These times of prayer have had an impact on our city causing thousands to come to a saving knowledge of Jesus Christ & to see established across the Gold Coast hundreds of great churches.

Yet there is still more to accomplish as we have a growing population. There is a fire burning on the inside of Pastors & church partners to see Jesus exalted across this great city.

Young people by the droves are coming to Christ. There is a hunger in them wanting to know the truth, not some hyped up entertainment but the reality of a personal, intimate God who saves, heals and delivers.

We can always pray individually yet there is something powerful when we lay down our own agendas & stand together as the body of Christ with Jesus at the centre.

We must be anchored in gratitude for what God has done yet advancing His cause across this city. It’s about working with God & not for God. Lifting our vision from our work to do His work. The Kingdom of God will be established across this the best city in Australia as we humble ourselves before Him in prayer. We don’t have to convince Jesus to move in our city we just need to get with His program & believe Him.
