III. THE FALLING AWAY OF CHRISTIANS
The Bible tells us about the falling away of Christians in the End-times, 2 Thessalonians 2:3, Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a FALLING AWAY first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition.
Lukewarm and unprepared Christians won’t be able to take the pressure of the End times judgments and the mark of the beast. It is more important to build up our inner man than to think of our career, trying to do business, pursuing after worldly things, pleasures and ambitions.
Mark. 8:36 What shall profit a man if he gains the whole world but loses his soul. It is more important to build up the believers’ inner man rather than focusing on the “Bless me, bless me” teachings. These and other licentious and self-centred Christians will not survive the End-Times testings. We need to prepare ourselves and other believers for these.
- The first wave of falling away will happen because of the economic collapse. Their security in and love for money will cause them to be utterly devastated.
2) Another reason can be because of the terrible judgments that will come upon the earth. They will think, ‘If God is a good God, why did He allow all these?’ They are ignorant of the redemptive reason for God’s judgments, that people who are shaken may repent and return to God.
3) Another reason can be because of the pull of the world, materialism; they didn’t perceive the signs of the End times. They are not true seekers of God, His kingdom and righteousness.
4) Another reason can be because of disillusionment with tribulation theology.
5) Another reason is fear of persecution and death, they will take the Mark of the Beast which is unforgivable in the eyes of God.
IV. THESE ARE THE DAYS OF JUDGMENT/SHAKING IN THE HOUSE OF GOD
These are the days of God’s judgments, and judgment begins in the house of God. 1 Peter 4:17 says judgment has begun in the house of God. GOD IS JUDGING THE CHURCHES. God is judging the ministers. God is judging the people, the believers… they are being judged! Before judgment can begin, before God can judge the world, He first needs to judge the church.
It is the church who will affect the nation for a transformation, for a change; but before that can take place, first you need a transformation inside you
Why is it necessary? Because the Bible says we will sit together with the Lord on His throne to judge the world. So before you can qualify to be a judge, you must be an upright person. Your hands must be clean, your heart must be clean, your mind must be clean, your lips must be clean, your walk must be clean. Psalms 15 and 24:3 & 4 say that we must be clean before God. Before God can pour out His glory upon us, upon your church and use you as a mighty instrument to turn this nation upside down, you must have clean lips!
The prophets have said that our nation is going to turn around; our churches are going to turn around. It is the church will affect the nation for a transformation, for a change. Before that can take place, first you need a transformation inside you. A change must take place inside of you first! You cannot go on living like this any longer. Decide today whom you will serve. In Revelation 22:11, “He that is unjust, let him be unjust still:, and he that is filthy, let him be filthy still: he that is righteous, let him be righteous still: and he that is holy, let him be holy still.” There are only two company: righteous and unrighteous, holy and sinful. Which company do you belong to? There is no middle ground. You cannot be a saint on a Sunday and be the devil from Monday to Saturday.
May we submit ourselves to God’s cleansing in our lives in these End-times so that we can be part of the glorious work He wants to do on earth to save people from sin and hell.
V. WHAT DOES GOD WANT THE CHURCH TO DO IN VIEW OF THESE JUDGMENTS OF GOD?
1. TO SURVIVE THE DAYS AHEAD, WE MUST WALK WITH THE LORD IN THE SECRET PLACE OF THE MOST HIGH, Psalm 91:1-16
He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High Shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.2 I will say of the Lord, “He is my refuge and my fortress;My God, in Him I will trust.” 3 Surely He shall deliver you from the snare of the fowler And from the perilous pestilence.4 He shall cover you with His feathers, And under His wings you shall take refuge; His truth shall be your shield and buckler. 5 You shall not be afraid of the terror by night, Nor of the arrow that flies by day, 6 Nor of the pestilence that walks in darkness, Nor of the destruction that lays waste at noonday.
WE NEED TO WALK VERY CLOSELY AND INTIMATELY WITH THE LORD IN THESE END- TIMES. That inner conscious connection with the Lord, our prayer life signifying our absolute dependence on the Lord in the judgments to come, is the foundation for survival. We need to seek the kingdom of God first and His righteousness in our lives, for the days are evil and the whole world is under God’s judgment. Only then can we avail of God’s protection for us.
In the days that lie ahead, millions of Christians are going to die because of the plagues that are coming on the face of the earth. They’re just not in a place to hear from God. They’re just not just in a place to escape. Even Noah, although he knew the Lord, he still would’ve died. OUR ONLY SAFETY IS PSALM 91, He that dwells in the secret place of the Most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty – He that dwells in the secret place. There is a place of safety, but it’s not for those nominal Christians. It’s not for those who just continue their lives the same this year as it was last year. Something has to change within us, in our relationship with the Lord.
Something has to change in our walk with God.
We have to learn how to walk with Him – HOW TO HEAR HIS VOICE AND TO BE IN THE RIGHT PLACE AT THE RIGHT TIME. You don’t want to be in a city that is destroyed in the End Times. Example: There’s this sister in the Lord from Cagayan de Oro in the Philippines who was told by the Lord to leave her house for a calamity was coming. On the night the floods suddenly hit Cagayan de Oro in 2011, the Lord spoke again to her, and she obeyed and her life was spared. You don’t want to be in a place where plagues are sweeping through, and you have no immunity to it. You see we’re being loaded with a deception that because we know the Lord everything is going to be fine. And the scripture doesn’t actually say that. It says if we follow on to know the Lord, if we walk with Him, if we lay down our lives to serve Him, he that loses his life, lays down his life, will save his life.
There is a time slot that has been given us to press into the next level and find a walk with God that will secure us in the days that lie ahead. Psalm 91 is a prophetic psalm of the End Times. it is important to understand this because as David received this from God. He received it for this generation.
2. WE MUST BUILD HOUSES OF PRAYER in our families, churches, neighbourhood and town to plead for God’s forgiveness, mercy and intercede for protection.
3. WE NEED TO DISCERN WHICH CALAMITIES ARE FROM THE ENEMY, then do warfare against the enemy in these calamities. He is out there to try to hinder God’s glorious destiny for our nation.
4. STATES ALONG THE BORDERS NEAR THE SEAS, Devise your plans and prepare your strategy to set up a watch on the borders near the seas to still the raging waves so that the plan and purpose of God in the nation may be accomplished.
5. In the midst of these End-times judgments, WE NEED TO CONTEND FOR GOD’S GLORIOUS END TIME DESTINY FOR AUSTRALIA which are the Great Glory, Harvest and Revival in Australia and to be the Great Southland of the Holy Spirit. Pray for and prophesy God’s prophetic words and promises to be fulfilled. We need to prophesy them, speak them forth, decree them into being. Without this, they cannot be fulfilled. This is God’s way of creation. He had to say, ‘Let there be light,’ for light to come into existence.
6. THERE WILL BE FIERCE SPIRITUAL BATTLES WITH EVIL FORCES IN THE END-TIMES. MAJOR CHANGE IN THE KINGDOM OF GOD ALWAYS TRIGGERS FIERCE RESISTANCE, and just because we understand that something to be of God does not mean that there will be no resistance. Usually just the opposite is true.
Zechariah 3:1 And he showed me Joshua the high priest standing before the angel of the LORD, and Satan standing at his right hand to resist him.
1 Peter 5:8 Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour: 9 Whom resist steadfast in the faith, knowing that the same afflictions are accomplished in your brethren that are in the world.
Examples of this are (1) when the Israelites were on their way to the Promise Land; (2) when Daniel learned that their 70 years of captivity in Babylon were over and he prayed; (3) in the days of David and Goliath – during this period great change was eminent in the nation. A whole era was coming to an end and a new chapter was about to begin in Israel. However along with this came great opposition.
1 Samuel. 17:3 And the Philistines stood on a mountain on the one side, and Israel stood on a mountain on the other side: and there was a valley between them. 4 And there went out a champion out of the camp of the Philistines, named Goliath, of Gath, whose height was six cubits and a span.
1Samuel. 17:16 And the Philistine drew near morning and evening, and presented himself forty days.
This man Goliath was of a race of Giants in the earth and represents high level spiritual opposition. We need to see this in relation to the changes that are about to occur in the church. We will have opposition. We have entered the end of an era and stand poised on the threshold ready to enter the Promised Land.
However, WE HAVE TO FIGHT FOR IT. We are in a new season, new beginnings are here.
The church is coming out of a major period of probation, and by grace we will enter into the fullness of this New Era in God.
God is raising up a people who will know their God and do great exploits. We are not to hold the fort in these End-times; WE ARE TO ADVANCE THE KINGDOM. We are at a point now where there is no middle ground; we are either advancing the Kingdom of God or the kingdom of Satan. There is coming a time very shortly when Jesus will rule for a thousand years and this planet again will become a paradise, a place of righteousness justice and peace. But NOW WE MUST FIGHT, WE MUST PRESS THE BATTLE TO THE GATES OF THE ENEMY. This is not a time for rest and comfort. It is a time to pray, repent and fight
