Understand the difference between temptation and sin
We live in a world of temptation and sin, and it is important to make a distinction.
Temptation is not sin. When you are tempted you have a choice to make. You still have the opportunity to resist and not fall into sin. But when you give in, then you have gone from temptation to sin.
When you find yourself struggling with temptation, and you will at some point, you haven’t done anything wrong yet. It’s time to look to God for help, He has promised….
No temptation has overtaken you except such as is common to man; but God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able, but with the temptation will also make the way of escape, that you may be able to bear it. (1 Corinthians 10:13 NKJV).
I really want to encourage you to be diligent with your Bible study time, because God has so much more for us than we can get from just going to church once or twice a week and hearing someone else talk about the Word. When you spend time with God, your life will change in amazing ways, because God is a Redeemer. There’s nothing that’s too hard for Him, and He can make you whole, spirit, soul and body!
