The Search For Jesus

The Search For Jesus
Matthew 2:1-2 (NKJV)

Wise Men from the East
2 Now after Jesus was born in Bethlehem of Judea in the days of Herod the king, behold, wise men from the East came to Jerusalem, 2 saying, “Where is He who has been born King of the Jews? For we have seen His star in the East and have come to worship Him.”

The word about Jesus spread far and wide shortly after His birth. In todays Scripture, we read that many months after the birth, men travelled great distances to inquire of King Herod where they could find this “King of the Jews.”

To seek the Messiah shows true wisdom. The magi are remembered as wise men because they sought Jesus. It is still a wise person who takes the time and makes the effort to find Christ in Christmas.

So today as Christmas approaches, look at your December calendar and review the ways you have celebrated, and the ways you are going celebrate. Ask yourself, am I looking for Jesus? Am I worshipping Him?

If you have been too busy or too preoccupied to find Jesus this Christmas, stop now and take a few moments with Him. The wise men sought and found Him. What better time than now for you to do the same?

I really want to encourage you to be diligent with your Bible study time, because God has so much more for us than we can get from just going to church once or twice a week and hearing someone else talk about the Word. When you spend time with God, your life will change in amazing ways, because God is a Redeemer. There’s nothing that’s too hard for Him, and He can make you whole, spirit, soul and body!
