Rising To The Occasion

Rising To The Occasion

The path to obedience is never easy. New Testament Christians certainly knew this.
When they preached the gospel in Jerusalem the religious leaders told them to stop. How did they respond?
Peter and John declared courageously, “Which is right in God’s eyes: to listen to you, or to him? You be the judges! As for us, we cannot help speaking about what we have seen and heard.” (‭Acts‬ ‭4‬:‭19-20‬ NIV) and what was the effect of their obedience?.

Rising To The Occasion

After they prayed, the place where they were meeting was shaken. And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and spoke the word of God boldly. (‭Acts‬ ‭4‬:‭31‬ NIV) because of this people came to Christ, and the church grew. All of this because they were willing to overcome the challenges put in front of them to be obedient to God.
Are you ready to rise to the occasion? Ask God to help you recognise the steps of obedience, and when your commitment is challenged to help you rise to the occasion.

I really want to encourage you to be diligent with your Bible study time, because God has so much more for us than we can get from just going to church once or twice a week and hearing someone else talk about the Word. When you spend time with God, your life will change in amazing ways, because God is a Redeemer. There’s nothing that’s too hard for Him, and He can make you whole, spirit, soul and body!
