HYBRIDS — NOW AVAILABLE
Demonic Counterfeits, Spiritual Deception and the Christian Response
A new book by Reverend Gary Hoban
We are living in a generation where spiritual confusion is increasingly presented as enlightenment, deception is frequently mistaken for revelation, and the distinction between biblical truth and counterfeit spirituality is becoming blurred.
The Church must respond, not with fear or sensationalism, but with spiritual discernment firmly grounded in the Word of God.
I am pleased to announce the publication of my new book, HYBRIDS: Demonic Counterfeits, Spiritual Deception and the Christian Response.
This book addresses an important question facing Christians today:
How do we recognise spiritual deception while remaining firmly established in the truth of Jesus Christ?
The importance of biblical discernment
Throughout Scripture, believers are warned that not every spiritual manifestation, teaching or supernatural claim originates from God.
The Apostle John writes:
“Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits, whether they are of God.” — 1 John 4:1 (NKJV)
This instruction remains essential for the Church today.
Christians are not called to accept every spiritual claim simply because it appears supernatural, persuasive or extraordinary.
We are called to examine everything in the light of Scripture.
The Holy Spirit never leads believers away from the truth of God’s Word.
Why I wrote HYBRIDS
Throughout my years of Christian ministry, I have encountered questions concerning spiritual deception, counterfeit manifestations and teachings that attempt to blur the distinction between biblical Christianity and other spiritual beliefs.
These matters require careful examination.
Unfortunately, discussions about the supernatural sometimes become dominated by speculation, sensational claims or fear.
My purpose in writing HYBRIDS is to encourage Christians to approach these subjects with biblical understanding, spiritual maturity and confidence in the authority of Jesus Christ.
The Church must neither dismiss the reality of spiritual warfare nor become consumed by speculation about the powers of darkness.
Our focus must remain upon Jesus Christ, His finished work and the authority of His Word.
A Christian response to deception
The answer to spiritual deception is not fear.
It is truth.
Believers must develop a deeper knowledge of Scripture, a stronger relationship with Jesus Christ and a greater dependence upon the Holy Spirit.
We must learn to distinguish between what Scripture clearly teaches and what remains uncertain or speculative.
The Christian response should always be characterised by faith, wisdom, humility and discernment.
Who should read this book?
HYBRIDS is written for pastors, Christian leaders, intercessors, Bible students and believers seeking a deeper understanding of biblical discernment and spiritual warfare.
It will particularly interest Christians who want to examine claims about supernatural activity and spiritual deception through the authority of Scripture.
My prayer is that this book will encourage readers to remain spiritually alert without becoming fearful, and discerning without becoming suspicious of everything around them.

A final encouragement
The Church does not need to fear the darkness.
We need to know the truth.
Jesus Christ remains Lord, His Word remains authoritative, and the Holy Spirit continues to guide believers into truth.
My prayer is that HYBRIDS will strengthen Christians in their faith and encourage a renewed commitment to biblical discernment.
