Worship In Obedience

Psalm 95:6-8 (NKJV)

Oh come, let us worship and bow down;
Let us kneel before the Lord our Maker.
For He is our God,
And we are the people of His pasture,
And the sheep [a]of His hand.

Today, if you will hear His voice:
“Do not harden your hearts, as in the [b]rebellion,
As in the day of [c]trial in the wilderness,

Worship In Obedience

When we teach our children obedience, we teach them that it is good for them. We explain the rewards they will receive when they do as we wish, they will be kept safe from danger, they will learn new skills, and most of all, they will live a blessed and meaningful life. We teach our children to obey because their doing so will bring them joy!

Its the same with our worship of God. You may not think of worship as a command to be obeyed, but it is! Just don’t fall into the common trap of worshipping worship.

In Psalm 95, we read the joyful command to come, sing, shout, worship, bow, and kneel. Scriptures tell us to worship God so we will be blessed in return.

Worship In Obedience

When we open our hearts to God, proclaiming His worth and thanking Him for His rich provision us in Christ, it brings Him pleasure.

In worship we recognise that God is God, and we are not. No man is. We acknowledge that there is no one higher, no one more powerful or worthy of our praise than our holy God. When we worship In Obedience we receive the amazing blessing of meeting with our Maker.

I really want to encourage you to be diligent with your Bible study time, because God has so much more for us than we can get from just going to church once or twice a week and hearing someone else talk about the Word. When you spend time with God, your life will change in amazing ways, because God is a Redeemer. There’s nothing that’s too hard for Him, and He can make you whole, spirit, soul and body!
