When there is no peace

Jeremiah 6:14 (NKJV)

They have also healed the hurt of My people slightly,
Saying, ‘Peace, peace!’
When there is no peace.

When there is no peace

The United Nations, and countless regional, charitable, educational, and nongovernmental organisations with peace in their name, have achieved very little. None have actually promised peace, but all have attacked the problem of war and discord as if peace were possible. Despite their efforts, none of them have achieved permanent success. At any time of day, somewhere in the world, a war is being waged.

What are we to do?

How are we to live in a warring world without being influenced by such ever present problems? How can we live in peace when there is no peace around us? How can we quell the internal turmoil we feel in times of loneliness, discouragement, or despair? The Bible points to the Prince of Peace, Jesus Christ, as the answer (Isaiah 9:6-7). With Him living in us as Lord, the fruit of his Spirit in our life is peace (Galatians 5:22). When we commit our anxieties and problems to Him in prayer, we receive His peace (Philippians 4:6-7) regardless of whats going on around us or within us.

Don’t wait for the world to give you a peace it has no ability to provide. Take the peace of Christ that is available today to calm your troubled soul.

I really want to encourage you to be diligent with your Bible study time, because God has so much more for us than we can get from just going to church once or twice a week and hearing someone else talk about the Word. When you spend time with God, your life will change in amazing ways, because God is a Redeemer. There’s nothing that’s too hard for Him, and He can make you whole, spirit, soul and body!
