Someone is coming

Someone is coming
Titus 2:12-13 (NKJV)

teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly in the present age, looking for the blessed hope and glorious appearing of our great God and Savior Jesus Christ,

There was once a couple, lets call them Chris and Jessica, from Sydney. they were about 600 kilometres from Cairns in their thirty eight foot boat when high seas threatened to sink their vessel. They broke out their life rafts, put on their survival suits, and used their radio tossed a distress signal with their location, then huddled together with their two dogs to wait. The crew from a nearby cruise ship heard the distress call and were able to rescue the couple and their dogs. Jessica said, “I knew someone would come. I just didn’t know how long would take”

Someone is coming

Thats the perspective Christians should have when they find themselves in the middle of the storms of life, even if we don’t know when, we know someone is going to come. That someone is Jesus Christ, of course, and His coming is called ” the blessed hope and glorious appearing” in Titus 2. We persevere through the challenges of this life because our hope is built on the certainty of Christ’s return. This world is not our home, we are just passing though.

When the waves get high, keep your eye on the heavens for the one who has promised to come.
