Back to series

Hey everyone and welcome to Refinery Life Church.

This week we start a new series titled “Warnings From The Past” based on incidents in the lives of men who lived in the very dawn of redemptive history.

These biographical messages speak to the needs of today.

Today we are talking about Blurred Vision.

Millions of people worldwide have sight problems.

Over fifty percent of Australians over the age of thirty wear glasses.

Many sight problems exist, nearsightedness, long sightedness, blurred vision, tunnel vision, and numerous other difficulties.

Lot is a character in the Bible with a sight problem that could be diagnosed as blurred vision.

We read in Genesis 13:10,  Lot lifted his eyes and saw all the plain of Jordan, that it was well watered everywhere (before the Lord destroyed Sodom and Gomorrah) like the garden of the Lord, like the land of Egypt as you go toward Zoar.

Abraham’s and Lot’s flocks grade together until trouble emerged between their herdsmen.

Abraham wisely chose to end the conflict by urging Lot to choose a seperate land.

Lot looked at the Jordan Valley near Sodom and saw the grazing promises of the valley but failed to see the evil influences of the Sodomites.

We, too, may suffer with blurred vision.

We need the help of the Holy Spirit to discern God’s will when we have decisions to make.

Today let’s observe Lot’s visual problems.
