Psalm 63:1 (NKJV)
Joy in the Fellowship of God
A Psalm of David when he was in the wilderness of Judah.
O God, You are my God;
Early will I seek You;
My soul thirsts for You;
My flesh longs for You
In a dry and thirsty land
Where there is no water.
Have you ever bought something. maybe a car or expensive clothes? Hoping that it would bring satisfaction? If so you know the disappointment that ultimately follows. It may satisfy for a few days, but then your heart is left with the same emptiness again.
Are you trying to find satisfaction in things that this world has to offer? Are you trying to fill the void with approval from others, possessions, a career, entertainment, or education? Let me assure you that these things will ultimately leave you empty. I know, I have been there! They are not the source of lasting satisfaction.
If you are thirsty, turn to the source of the living water. Seek the Lord and call upon Him. Drink from His Word and dwell in His presence. Your thirst will be quenched, and your soul will be satisfied.
I really want to encourage you to be diligent with your Bible study time, because God has so much more for us than we can get from just going to church once or twice a week and hearing someone else talk about the Word. When you spend time with God, your life will change in amazing ways, because God is a Redeemer. There’s nothing that’s too hard for Him, and He can make you whole, spirit, soul and body!
