The nature of God’s love

The nature of God’s love
John 15:13 (NKJV)

Greater love has no one than this, than to lay down one’s life for his friends.

The movie “Love Story” from 1970 became famous for the words, “Love means never having to say you’re sorry” I know this because it was a message on a Valentines Day card from one of our Florist businesses. That line is just one of many ways people have described love through the years. But Jesus gave us the best example of true love. That kind of love is manifested by one person being willing to lay down his or her life for a friend. Although ultimately, ‘to lay down one’s life” means, “to die” we can also show true love by laying down our own desires, time, or opinions. True love is giving of oneself for a friend.

The nature of God’s love

John 3:16 says that God loved the whole world, But John 15:13 says that Jesus loves you personally, because as His follower, you are His friend. (John 15:14-15) If you ever feel small in light of the entire world, you can erase that feeling by taking Jesus’ words to heart. You are His friend if you are His follower, and He laid down His life for you.

The nature of God’s love

I really want to encourage you to be diligent with your Bible study time, because God has so much more for us than we can get from just going to church once or twice a week and hearing someone else talk about the Word. When you spend time with God, your life will change in amazing ways, because God is a Redeemer. There’s nothing that’s too hard for Him, and He can make you whole, spirit, soul and body!

You’re important to God, and you’re important to us at www.faithministries.com.au. When it comes to prayer, we believe that God wants to meet your needs and reveal His promises to you.
