Future Vacancy

Future Vacancy

1 Thessalonians 4:14 (NKJV)

For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so God will bring with Him those who sleep in Jesus.

Temporary accomodation is a billion dollar industry today, but has been around for centuries. It’s the way the New Testament Christians described the temporary place where they buried their loved ones. The believers body was placed  into a koimateriam, Greek for “hotel” or “inn.” The word choice reflected the believers’ firm expectation in the Resurrection. If a believer dies before the Rapture, Christ will come to the “hotel” where the body is and reunite it with the persons spirit, which has been with Him.

Future Vacancy

The Rapture assures us the cemetery is only a motel for the body of the believer. Our hope is the Resurrection, that glorious moment when all believers are suddenly caught up into glory an hope bursts into reality. If your missing a loved one whose spirit is with Jesus, focus your hope on the Resurrection (John 11:25).

I really want to encourage you to be diligent with your Bible study time, because God has so much more for us than we can get from just going to church once or twice a week and hearing someone else talk about the Word. When you spend time with God, your life will change in amazing ways, because God is a Redeemer. There’s nothing that’s too hard for Him, and He can make you whole, spirit, soul and body!
