A Prophetic Call to Prayer for Australia

A Prophetic Call to Prayer for Australia

“Watchmen on the Walls”

“I have set watchmen on your walls, O Jerusalem; They shall never hold their peace day or night. You who make mention of the LORD, do not keep silent, And give Him no rest till He establishes and till He makes Jerusalem a praise in the earth.”

— Isaiah 62:6–7 (NKJV)

Australia is standing at a defining moment in its history.

Around us we see increasing uncertainty, moral confusion, spiritual complacency, broken families, and a growing rejection of biblical truth. Yet the answer is not despair—it is prayer.

Throughout Scripture, whenever God’s people humbled themselves before Him, He intervened. He raised deliverers, brought revival, restored nations, and demonstrated His mercy. Our confidence today is not in governments, political parties, economics, or human institutions. Our confidence is in the Lord Jesus Christ, who is “the same yesterday, today, and forever” (Hebrews 13:8).

As prophetic intercessors, we are called to stand in the gap for our nation (Ezekiel 22:30). We are not called merely to observe Australia’s spiritual decline—we are called to contend for her spiritual awakening.

This is not the hour for fear.

This is not the hour for compromise.

This is not the hour for silence.

This is the hour for the Church to arise in faith, holiness, boldness, and persistent prayer.

The Lord is calling His people to become modern-day watchmen—men and women who discern the times, proclaim His truth, and faithfully intercede until His purposes are established in our nation.

May every church become a house of prayer.

May every family become an altar of worship.

May every believer become a faithful witness.

May every city experience a fresh outpouring of the Holy Spirit.

The promise of God’s Word remains unchanged:

“The effective, fervent prayer of a righteous man avails much.”

— James 5:16 (NKJV)

As we humble ourselves before the Lord, let us believe that He is able to do “exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think” (Ephesians 3:20).

Australia’s greatest days need not be behind her.

If the Church will return wholeheartedly to Christ, the Lord can once again visit this land with revival, reformation, and a mighty harvest of souls.

May we never underestimate what God can accomplish through a praying Church.

A Prayer of National Repentance

Heavenly Father,

We come before You in the mighty name of our Lord Jesus Christ, acknowledging that You alone are holy, righteous, just, and worthy of all honour and praise.

Your Word declares that righteousness exalts a nation, but sin is a reproach to any people (Proverbs 14:34). We confess that as a nation we have wandered from Your ways. We have often exchanged Your truth for the wisdom of this world. We have neglected Your Word, rejected Your commandments, and trusted in our own understanding rather than acknowledging You.

Lord, forgive us.

Forgive the Church where we have become complacent, prayerless, divided, or silent when we should have proclaimed Your truth with love and conviction.

Forgive us for valuing comfort above holiness, popularity above obedience, and convenience above discipleship.

Cleanse us anew by the precious blood of Jesus Christ.

Create in us clean hearts, O God, and renew steadfast spirits within us (Psalm 51:10).

We pray for Australia.

Have mercy upon our nation.

Turn the hearts of fathers back to their children and the hearts of children back to their fathers.

Strengthen marriages.

Restore families.

Protect our children.

Raise up righteous leaders in every sphere of society.

Pour out Your Holy Spirit upon Your Church.

Awaken pastors, evangelists, teachers, prophets, apostles, missionaries, youth leaders, and every believer to proclaim Christ with fresh boldness.

May signs, wonders, and genuine conversions accompany the preaching of the Gospel.

Raise up labourers for the harvest throughout every state, territory, regional community, and remote area of Australia.

Lord, let revival begin with us.

Search our hearts.

Expose anything that grieves Your Spirit.

Teach us to walk humbly before You.

May Australia once again become a nation where Jesus Christ is honoured, Your Word is respected, and the Gospel is freely proclaimed.

We ask this not for our glory but for Yours alone.

In the mighty name of Jesus Christ our Lord.

Amen.
