In 2025 PIFA has experienced an ‘organic’ growth through connection with other prayer movements and intercessors with a genuine sense of purpose to fulfil the purposes of the Lord in our nation and beyond, to the uttermost ends of the earth.
One of these networks, Kingdom Prayer Network has been ploughing the ground in prayer for decades. Led by Annie Cathcart in Toowoomba, Queensland, this network aims to:
- Link and support prayer groups as well as individual prayer warriors in Australia.
- Provide teaching and personal support to individuals as well as prayer groups.
- Provide help and training for Intercessors, sharing teachings and prophecies.
- Sharing prayer requests and answers to prayer through confidential prayer chains.
- Linking with and supporting other prayer ministries in Australia and overseas.
Essentially, the heart of Kingdom Prayer Network is all about Bringing people, Communities and Nations together to Raise up a ‘Kingdom Prayer Army’ across the world.
Amanda Hoban has invited Annie to share about her story that goes for almost 90 years, todays article briefly covers her spiritual journey and faithfulness in serving the Lord over decades.
Annie writes, The Kingdom Prayer Network was born in 2008 as ‘Toowoomba Regional Prayer Network’ (TRPN) being an extension of the ‘Toowoomba City Prayer Network’ which commenced in 1998 after 24 years of prayer for unity and transformation in Toowoomba. The aim was ‘To rise up a Prayer Army across our Region’. This has happened in the last 12 years by the Lord direction, and it is becoming an ever-extending network, the aim is now to rise a ‘Kingdom Prayer Army’ across the world.
The dream of this network was born in 1973, and this is my story of how it happened:
When the Lord called me to follow Him it was with the words “Seek Ye first the Kingdom of God and all his righteousness, and EVERYTHING ELSE will be added unto you”, and that has been so true of my story.
I came to Australia as an 18 year old girl in 1957, and found the Lord through working for the Salvation Army in a boy’s home in 1962. In that year my parents went back to Denmark, and I was naturalised as an Australian, gave my heart to the Lord for full time service, and became a “Salvation Army Soldier for life.”
I married a very “Aussie” husband in 1964, and after completing 2 years of training in Sydney we became Officers (pastors) of the “Defenders of the Faith Session” in 1965. For 20 years we ministered in various Corps (Churches) while raising our family of 5 children, (four boys and one girl) and in 1986 we were sent to Toowoomba to look after the Army’s home for “Intellectually Challenged Adults”. After 5 years we were appointed to a nursing home in Sydney, which was followed by 4 years working with Drug and Alcohol Rehabilitation on a farm in Morisset NSW.
In 1998 we had to retire 10 years early because of my husband’s ill health, and we returned to live in Toowoomba for good. My husband suffered with very bad diabetes, and it was predicted that he would be in a wheel chair by the end of the year. Fortunately, this did not happen, but he did have a stroke, lost some sight, and became an amputee in 2003, and the Lord finally called him home in July 2012.
I have always been a woman of prayer since I became a Christian, but because of my husband’s illness, prayer became the most important thing in my life. This dream was planted in my heart in 1973 while we were stationed in Kingaroy. We had a wonderful working relationship between the different churches, and as the Body of Christ we ministered to the outlaying country areas by holding cottage meetings on different farms as far as 50 km away. We had a ‘Radio Sunday school’ operating, prayer meetings at the public schools, as well as a “Prayer Clock” in the local Christian Bookshop from where intercessors covered the many combined initiatives for the city in prayer.
The secret behind the success of this amazing venture was a weekly Intercessors meeting, where we were able to “Bathe each event and need in prayer”. People were being transformed, and I saw firsthand the amazing “Power of prayer when The Body of Christ is working together.”
On my retirement in 1998 the Lord gave me just one word, and it was ‘Prayer net’. At that time, I knew it would have to be on the computer as I would have to stay at home looking after my husband. I knew nothing about computers, but the Lord sent me many people who could help me.
I became a member of the ‘Toowoomba City Prayer Network’ in 2001 and I was also invited to attend the City Intercessors meeting. In 2010 I became the leader of that meeting as well as the prayer network which then became ‘Toowoomba Regional Prayer Network’. We prayed for our Churches, Schools, the Council, our Region, as well as other important issues of our City and Nation. The aim of this meeting was to bring the Body of Christ together in Unity, so we could support each other more.
For the last 12 years I have sent out newsletters informing people about what was happening in our City, Region, and Country because of the faithful prayers of countless intercessors, and when I drew a map of the main area covered by the network it looked like a Butterfly.
Now in 2026 this network has grown even more as it has grown from a “Toowoomba Regional Butterfly” to a “World-Wide Cluster Anointing”.
God wants to give us cluster thinking. He wants us to learn to move in Him TOGETHER and not independently of our brothers and sisters in Christ.
Isaiah 65:8 prophetically represents the Cluster Anointing – a mingling of anointing’s that produce a greater anointing than one person could have alone.
Isaiah 65:8 This is what the Lord says: “As when juice is still found in a cluster of grapes and people say, ‘Don’t destroy it, there is still a blessing in it,’ so will I do in behalf of my servants; I will not destroy them all.
If you study this passage, you see that new wine exists not only in the cluster, but also somehow in the INDIVIDUAL GRAPE. The individual grape retains its identity, its shape, its taste, its texture – everything about itself, but it contains NEW WINE, and the new vine represents the POWERFUL CORPORATE ANOINTING that transcends an individual.
I believe we are being CLUSTERED TOGETHER IN THE WINEPRESS, and the Holy Spirit Himself is treading out the vine. He is treading out the grapes in our hearts. When the cluster comes TOGETHER and each grape retains its individual distinction, the anointing is found. This happens while the cluster is still on the branch, ABIDING IN THE VINE.
Spiritually when the cluster anointing exists, it causes you to dream BIGGER DREAMS than you can dream by yourself. It enables you to be part of accomplishing something for God that is larger than anything you could do alone. IT TRANSFORMS YOUR THINKING. We are on a journey with PIFA clustered together and working towards a shared vision.
My ministry has become more on line, and I have many weekly zoom calls teaching and mentoring people of all ages and levels of maturity. Since 2006 I have followed the teachings of the “Glory of Zion International Ministries”, and have learned much about the prophetic from teachers like Chuck Pierce, Dutch Sheets, Cindy Jacobs, Robert Hiedler, and other well-known prophets.
In 2021 I officially became a member of their KINGDOM HARVEST ALLIANCE to be sent forth with a NEW HARVEST ANOINTING for the times we are now living in. The Truth of the Bible has been my guide ever since I gave my heart to the Lord for full time service in 1962, and I was commissioned in 1967 as a DEFENDER OF THE FAITH. This was our motto:
CALLED TO BE DEFENDERS
Called to be Defenders, for Christ our Risen Lord
Equipped with Holy Armour, the written word our SWORD
Guarding sacred precepts, whatever the COST may be,
Defenders of the Gospel, that all may be SET FREE
OPPOSING WRONG we FIGHT for GOD AND RIGHT
DEFENDERS BY THE SPIRITS MIGHT.
I truly believe that prayer is the key to all Christian service, and in 2008 the Lord gave me this motto for my network by Max Lucado:
GOD’S POWER IS UNLEASHED – WHEN GOD’S PEOPLE PRAY
