The Message and The Method

The Message and The Method

having your conduct honorable among the Gentiles, that when they speak against you as evildoers, they may, by your good works which they observe, glorify God in the day of visitation. 1 Peter 2:12 (NKJV)

Churches are always looking for new methods to do their ministry, and many Christians are eager to find the newest ways to share their faith, and rightly so! We need to be ready for the changing times as we proclaim the unchanging message of Christ. We want to reach our culture, and every generation devises its own techniques and systems.

But wait just a second!

The Message and The Method

Sometimes the methods don’t have to change. God’s primary means of evangelism is for people to see the hope of Christ in our daily lives and to ask us about it! We’re to be ready to give an answer when that happens. 1 Peter 3:15 (NKJV) But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts, and always be ready to give a defense to everyone who asks you a reason for the hope that is in you, with meekness and fear;

God’s method is to let our light shine before men so they can see our good works and glorify our heavenly Father. Matthew 5:16 (NKJV) Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven.

Peter said, “live such good lives among the pagans that……they may see your good deeds and glorify God”

The Message and The Method

God’s message is Christ. His method is you!
