SCRIPTURE READING – BEREAN STANDARD BIBLE
Judges 3:15 And again they cried out to the LORD, and He raised up Ehud son of Gera, a left-handed Benjamite, as their deliverer. So they sent him with tribute to Eglon king of Moab.

INTRODUCTION
Today we come to Judges 3:15 under the theme “God’s Strength In Weakness”. Judges exposes the repeated cycle of forgetting God, compromise, oppression, crying out and deliverance. The text warns against self-rule while showing the mercy of God who repeatedly raises deliverers. Biblical strength is not self-sufficiency dressed in religious language. The purpose of preaching this passage is not to turn a biblical event into a slogan, but to hear what the text reveals about God and then allow that truth to shape the way we live. Scripture calls us beyond spectatorship. God forms disciples who listen, trust, repent where necessary and obey.
1. READ THE TEXT IN ITS CONTEXT
We begin by refusing to isolate Judges 3:15 from the story around it. The people in the passage face real pressures, choices and consequences. God is not an abstract idea in the text; He acts, speaks, corrects, provides and calls His people to respond. When we read carefully, we discover that faith is rooted in God’s character rather than our preferred outcome. The question is therefore not simply, ‘What does this verse mean to me?’ but, ‘What is God revealing, and what faithful response does that revelation require?’
2. GOD FORMS PEOPLE WHO TRUST HIM
The theme “God’s Strength In Weakness” confronts the instinct to depend on what is visible, controllable or comfortable. Biblical faith does not deny difficulty. It places difficulty beneath the greater reality of God’s character. The Lord has never asked His people to manufacture confidence in themselves. He calls them to remember who He is, what He has said and how He has acted. That remembrance becomes fuel for present obedience.
3. THE HOLY SPIRIT LEADS US INTO OBEDIENCE
The Holy Spirit does not merely make Scripture interesting; He makes it living and searching. He brings conviction where compromise has been tolerated, courage where fear has delayed obedience, and wisdom where the next step is unclear. We should therefore come to the Word asking more than, ‘What can I learn?’ We should ask, ‘Lord, what must change? What must I begin? What must I stop? Whom must I forgive? Where must I trust You?’
4. FAITH MUST BECOME PRACTICE
The response in today’s message is practical: Name one area of your life where ‘God’s Strength in Weakness’ needs to become practice today. Write the next obedient step and do it before the day ends. That is important because obedience is where devotion becomes discipleship. We can admire biblical courage while remaining passive, speak about faith while protecting every comfort, or pray for guidance while ignoring what God has already made clear. The Lord calls us to concrete obedience. Often the next faithful step is smaller than we imagine, but it must still be taken.
5. CARRY THE WORD INTO THE WEEK
A Sunday message is not complete when the service ends. The Word must travel with us into Monday morning, our homes, workplaces, conversations, decisions and private habits. Ask God to give you one sentence from this message to remember, one action to take, and one person to encourage. When Scripture becomes worship, repentance, courage, love and obedience, the Church becomes stronger and its witness becomes clearer.
MINISTRY RESPONSE
Take a moment before God. Where has the Holy Spirit put His finger on your life through Judges 3:15? Do not rush past conviction. If repentance is needed, repent. If courage is needed, ask for courage. If forgiveness is needed, choose forgiveness. If God has already shown you the next obedient step, settle it before Him now. We are not asking for emotional response without lasting fruit; we are asking the Holy Spirit to form Christ in us.
CLOSING PRAYER
Father, thank You for speaking through Your Word. Form in me the truth of god’s strength in weakness. Keep me close to Jesus, sensitive to the Holy Spirit and ready to obey. Give me humility where I need correction, courage where I need to act, and faith to trust You with the outcome. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
