WHY AUSTRALIA NEEDS A REFORMATION NOW

A Prophetic Call to Return to God

By Pastor Gary Hoban

“If My people who are called by My name will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land.”
— 2 Chronicles 7:14 (NKJV)

Australia has been one of the most blessed nations on earth. God has given us peace, prosperity, freedom and extraordinary opportunity.

Yet today, many of the foundations of our society are being shaken.

Moral confusion, family breakdown, the rise of violence, economic pressure, spiritual apathy and rejection of God’s truth have created a time of crisis.

THE CRISIS IS SPIRITUAL BEFORE IT IS POLITICAL

Australia’s greatest need is not a change of government but a change of heart.

When we remove God from our schools, families, laws and culture, we open the door to darkness.

Only a spiritual reformation can heal our land.

REFORMATION BEGINS WITH REPENTANCE

Reformation always begins with God’s people repenting.

We must turn from personal sin, pride, compromise and worldliness.

We must also repent as a nation for rejecting God’s law, disrespecting life, dishonouring marriage and turning our hearts from Him.

THE CHURCH MUST AWAKEN

The Church is called to be salt and light, not silent and comfortable.

Now is the time for boldness, holiness and unity.

We must preach truth, pray with power and love our nation enough to stand for what is right.

THE POWER OF THE HOLY SPIRIT

Reformation is not achieved by human effort but by the outpouring of the Holy Spirit.

As we humble ourselves, God will heal our land, revive His Church and restore Australia to her God-given destiny.

Australia can still turn back to God.

Let us arise as watchmen, intercede with faith, and believe for a great reformation in our nation.

A PROPHETIC CALL TO PRAYER FOR AUSTRALIA

Australia is standing at a defining moment in its history.

Around us we see increasing uncertainty, moral confusion, spiritual complacency, broken families, and a growing rejection of biblical truth.

Yet the answer is not despair—it is prayer.

As prophetic intercessors, we are called to stand in the gap for our nation.

— Ezekiel 22:30

THE CHURCH MUST AWAKEN

God is calling His Church to rise up.

Silence in the face of evil is not an option.

We must be a prophetic voice, defending truth, strengthening families, discipling the nations and demonstrating the love of Jesus in word and deed.

THE ROLE OF INTERCESSORS

Intercessors are watchmen on the wall.

We lift up our nation to God’s throne and resist the forces of darkness.

God has chosen prayer warriors to prepare the way for revival and reformation.

A CALL TO ACTION

This is not the time to be discouraged.

Believe God for the impossible.

Let us humble ourselves, repent, pray, fast and boldly proclaim the Gospel.

Let us strengthen our families, serve our communities and contend in faith for a fresh move of God across Australia.

“Search me, O God, and know my heart; try me, and know my anxieties; and see if there is any wicked way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting.”
— Psalm 139:23–24 (NKJV)

A PRAYER OF NATIONAL REPENTANCE

Heavenly Father,

We humble ourselves before You on behalf of Australia.

We repent for our nation’s rebellion against You, for turning away from Your ways and Your truth.

Forgive us for our sins—injustice, greed, immorality, pride, apathy and the rejection of Your Word.

Lord, have mercy on Australia.

Cleanse our land, heal our hearts and restore us to You.

Raise up a generation that fears the Lord and seeks Your face with all their heart.

We ask for revival and a mighty reformation across our nation in Jesus’ name.

Amen.
