Byron Bay and Tweed River Strategic Prayer Assignment.

Lift up your heads, O you gates!
And be lifted up, you everlasting doors!
And the King of glory shall come in.

Who is this King of glory?
The Lord strong and mighty,
The Lord mighty in battle.

Lift up your heads, O you gates!
Lift up, you everlasting doors!
And the King of glory shall come in.

Who is this King of glory?
The Lord of hosts,
He is the King of glory. Selah

 Psalms 24:7-10

The most easterly point of Australia is located in Byron Bay, Northern NSW. On Good Friday, 3rd April a small team went to the Byron Bay lighthouse to pray for our nation, a strategic prayer assignment, given by the Holy Spirit. We met at sunrise for prayer to establish the Lordship of Jesus Over the East Gate. The theme of our scripture readings and declaration was around light, very fitting, we were at the light house. As we concluded the first part of our assignment with communion we noticed the door to the light house with an etched glass panel. It showed a heraldic (coat-of-arms style) design with a central shield set against a large cross, surrounded by stylised foliage. The ribboned Latin words split across both sides of the design for symmetry: “OLIM PERICULUM” on the left and “NUNC SALUS” on the right, which together translate to “Once danger, now safety.” Of course the meaning of those words reflects the purpose of the lighthouse, guiding ships safely past what was once a hazardous coastline, but we all felt that there was a deeper significance, The Holy Spirit is the one to guide human lives out of danger to safety through The Lord Jesus.

We declared Jesus as the Light of the World and read Scriptures about His supremacy (Colossians 1, John 1, Psalm 24)  and invited the Holy Spirit to fill the Eastern Gate.

“Jesus, You are the true Light that gives light to every person. We welcome Your presence at the Eastern Gate of Australia.”

Prophetic Declaration for the Eastern Gate (Byron Bay)

“We speak to the Eastern Gate of Australia — lift up your head, O gate, that the King of Glory may come in. Let the light of Christ rise over Byron Bay as the first light touches the land. We declare that Jesus is Lord over this coastline, this culture, and this spiritual atmosphere. Let every false light be exposed by the true Light. Let seekers encounter the living God.Let healing flow from the throne of grace. Let identity be restored in Christ. Let the land be blessed, the people be blessed, and the atmosphere be filled with the presence of the Holy Spirit. We bless Byron Bay as a gate of awakening, purity, creativity, and truth. Let the King of Glory come in.”

The second destination to saturate with worship and prayer was Wategos Beach, Byron Bay. Through intermittent rain we filled the air with our voices in loud singing and prayers

. for truth

• for identity

• for spiritual clarity

• for the influence of Christ

(Ephesians 6:12)

We prayed for Identity Restoration and prayed over the Wellness Economy in the region, releasing blessings over the Seekers, not the Systems.

Moving on to the Byron Bay Township we continued with more prayers on the edge of the famous beach, standing on a rock leading to the sand and declared  Matthew 16:18 ‘And I also say to you that you are Peter, and on this rock I will build My church, and the gates of Hades shall not prevail against it.’

We Continued on in releasing the glory of God, as a light into the darkness, with a  prayer walk through the very busy beachside market, carrying a portable speaker, the sound of worship rang out, some people, both passers-by and stall holders became very aware of a shift in the atmosphere as God was glorified. We prayed for Gatekeepers to Rise and asked God to raise the ones who hold the gate in the Spirit.

• intercessors

• prophetic voices

• Christian creatives

• Indigenous believers

• mothers and fathers.

The last stop in the Byron Bay region was Arawakal National Park- with a clear view toward the light house, we continued in worship, prayer and blowing of the shofar. The assignment had taken us to four strategic locations, that covered the North, South, East and West, both from the lighthouse and towards it.

The next location was at the Tweed River, we reassembled at ‘John Follett Park’ and enjoyed lunch in the park and the warm sunshine, continuing with worshiping in the park, with live music. The locals seemed to enjoy the music, some stopping to listen and speak with the team. The final task of the strategic prayer assignment was to cleanse the waterways, a prophetic act in prayer and with the application of salt into the Tweed River.

We prayed for purity of Spiritual Streams.

• Discernment

• Separation of truth from deception

• Healing from spiritual confusion

• Encounters with the living God

We concluded the strategic prayer assignment with blessing the Land. In great expectation and in faith we pray that we may we see the light of the Lord Jesus shine in the darkness, in Byron Bay, in Tweed Heads and to every shore in Australia.
