THE CHURCH MUST BECOME A FAMILY AGAIN.
|
|
Over the years, I have had the privilege of ministering in Muslim nations, communist nations, underground churches, and persecuted regions where believers gather quietly, often at great personal cost. I have sat in humble homes with pastors who owned almost nothing, yet carried a deep love for people. I have preached in places where Christians were watched by governments, restricted by authorities, and opposed by dominant religious systems.

And through those experiences, I have observed something the Western Church desperately needs to understand.
|

THE RISE OF ONE NATION. A 'HOSANNAH' CRY FROM ORDINARY PEOPLE WHO FEEL OPPRESSED.
|
|
A poll published last weekend indicated that if a federal election were held then, One Nation would receive the highest first preference vote among all political parties. A week earlier, another poll indicated that One Nation could have won up to 53 seats (out of 150) in the lower house had and election been held then, making it the official opposition in the parliament.
|
|
‘Expert’ commentators first called the shift in voter preferences a ‘protest vote.’ They now say some of the new One Nation supporters are ‘sticking.’ They variously identify the cost of living, ‘woke’ policies, high levels of immigration, the costs of energy transition, the federal budget, or some combination of those reasons as the cause.
|

HOLD FAST TO THE CONFESSION OF OUR HOPE. GOD IS FAITHFUL.
|
|
Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for He who promised is faithful.
|
|
1st - I want to encourage everyone reading this message that spiritual matters are drawing to a conclusion and the Lord is asking all to hold fast your position in Christ without doubting. Jesus is faithful to keep His promises.
|
|
2nd - What is the day approaching?
|
|
You may somewhat agree with me that the Temple in Israel will soon be erected.
|
|
You may somewhat agree with me that the Two Witnesses in Israel will soon appear.
|
You may somewhat agree with me that the anti-Christ will soon appear and that there is going to be a great tribulation upon all the earth.
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
My mother, bless her soul, was a worrier (not a warrior). She worried about everything, particularly everything to do with me, her only child. Even though she believed in God and read the whole Bible, she struggled with her fears of everything that could go wrong.
|
|
One day in my early teens, I had yet another bicycle accident on the poorly maintained roads in our town in North Queensland. She patched me up with bandages, and later in her bedroom she cried out to God in her fear of something far worse happening to me. Suddenly, she experienced the direct, clear, and reassuring voice of God saying clearly: “Trust me!” It was, she felt, as though a great storm surrounding her suddenly disappeared and she felt the true peace of God’s loving presence. “Yes Lord,” she said to Him, “I trust You.”

There were many opportunities for her to worry after this revelation of course; my motorbike, my car, my jobs, my marriage, our son – her grandson, and so on, but as she related to me before her passing a few years ago, she never lost that safe place with Him that she could return to anytime she felt worries pressing in on her.

This is a life lesson that has stayed with me: we need to completely trust in God.
|
|

|
At the Garden of Gethsemane, Jesus said to His disciples; "My soul is crushed with horror and sadness to the point of death... stay awake with Me."
|
After some time Jesus went back to His disciples and found them sleeping. "Couldn't you even stay awake with Me one hour? Keep alert and pray. Otherwise, temptation will overpower you. For the spirit indeed is willing but the body is weak." (Matthew 26:38, 40-41).

Jesus started his ministry with prayer and fasting for 40 days. He surely knew it was the key in doing the will of God in His life and for the world that He will save.
|
|
The same principle has been reiterated in our nation, that is, “God is giving the nation into the hands of the intercessors.”
|
|
In response to God's call to the Body of Christ in Australia, “TO PRAY ALL MANNERS OF PRAYER”, we have set a target.
|
|
|
|
Gold Coast City Council governs a large local government area in SE QLD with 14 elected councillors and a Mayor, Tom Tate, responsible to the community of over 700,000 people. Our city population balloons to way over 1 million people during peak holiday seasons and has recently been identified as Australia’s largest and fastest-growing non-capital city. Our economy has outpaced major capitals like Sydney and Melbourne and shows no signs of slowing. Positioned as the third tier in government operating below the state and federal levels, the Council has direct authority over daily life and local development, within limits.

Against that backdrop I have the privilege of serving in the City Council as Councillor Advisor – Pastoral Care. This role is unique, positioning me outside the space of political advocacy and instead within one of spiritual guidance and support. One of the key challenges in navigating such a role is understanding the boundary between seeking to win a political issue or argument and remaining grounded as a faithful advisor, specifically to the Mayor, for careful consideration of the outcomes of decisions from a Biblical perspective.

ALICE SPRINGS PRAYER ASSIGNMENT.
|
Our team was given an assignment to go to Alice Springs to pray and intercede as part of our mandate to redeem the land (Australia) for the Lord. The team waited on the Lord for direction, and we headed to Alice Springs in late May to carry out the strategic prayer assignment that had been given. The team consisted of an intercessory prayer group, including a seer and spiritual mappers.

God revealed the town of Alice Springs is shaped like the head of a horse or a bull, when viewed from the air looking down upon the town, a birds eye view.
|
Further research revealed that The Coat of Arms for Alice Springs includes a shield, which is quartered with a white border and a red heart in the centre, representing the town as the “Red Heart of the Centre of Australia".
