Today we are going to talk about, Reaching Our Goals.
1 Chronicles 4:10 (ESV)
10 Jabez called upon the God of Israel, saying, “Oh that you would bless me and enlarge my border, and that your hand might be with me, and that you would keep me from harm so that it might not bring me pain!” And God granted what he asked.
I don’t know too many people that are content to stay where they are without any improvements increase.
God has wired us to want to grow, some people just haven’t worked out that that’s God’s plan not theirs.
But what type of growth are we looking for?
We have to be careful to focus on what’s important and what’s within our control, as opposed to external results that we have no control over.
My goals are usually qualitative not quantitive, to have a spirit of excellence as opposed to having a lot.
To do the best I can with what I have.
I have always wanted to learn and progress by doing, not just having book knowledge.
Constantly moving further forward towards the plan God has for me.
Sometimes our goals are a steady step by step path, and sometimes they require risk.
Whenever we ask God to enlarge our territories, we need faith to move to the next level.
That always come with the chance of failure, although we can trust God to be with us either to help us reach our goal or to catch us when we fail.
Over time these incremental steps of faith pay off.
We grow and improve and reach even higher goals.
It is important to remember to focus on goals that are within your control.
When you do your part to prepare, you can trust God for the results.
In His timing, He is the one who enlarges your territory.
Your job is to make yourself ready for it.
