Devotion’s Dividends

John 20:1 (NKJV)

The Empty Tomb
Now the first day of the week Mary Magdalene went to the tomb early, while it was still dark, and saw that the stone had been taken away from the tomb.

Mary Magdalene was a devoted follower of Christ, and with good reason. In Luke 8:2-3 we read that she was part of a group that traveled with Jesus, devoting themselves to Him by serving Him and seeing to His daily needs.

What was the source of Mary’s devotion? She had been healed of the debilitating spiritual condition of demon possession. Freed from the evil tyranny, she dedicated herself to showing gratitude and thanks to Jesus by ministering to Him out of her own resources.

It has been said that Mary Magdalene was the last at the cross and the first at the grave.

When Jesus was buried, Mary still wanted to show her love and dedication to Him. Her faithfulness was rewarded when she met the resurrected Lord in the garden. This privilege was hers alone because she rose early and went to the garden in devotion and service.

Devotion’s Dividends

When we serve the Lord faithfully, we will be rewarded in large and small ways. In daily faithfulness of time spent with the Lord, we can ask Him. “Lord, what would you have me do today?”

I really want to encourage you to be diligent with your Bible study time, because God has so much more for us than we can get from just going to church once or twice a week and hearing someone else talk about the Word. When you spend time with God, your life will change in amazing ways, because God is a Redeemer. There’s nothing that’s too hard for Him, and He can make you whole, spirit, soul and body!

You’re important to God, and you’re important to us at www.faithministries.com.au. When it comes to prayer, we believe that God wants to meet your needs and reveal His promises to you.
